Potty Update!

Carly is very curious about her potty. I almost forget its there until she says, "PEE PEE!" I say, "You want to go pee pee on the potty!!" She says, "YAH!" The night before last Carly pushed the door closed and then peed on the tile next to the potty. So, last night I stayed in the bathroom with her. She wanted to get off the potty to reach the toilet paper. She thinks she has to wipe to get the pee pee out. So, I handed her the paper in hopes that she would stay on the potty. Instead she packed the potty full of toilet paper. I didn't think she was going to do it. I figured, try one more time. I grabbed all the paper and sat her on the potty and the music went off! She did it!
BIG GIRL!!! Our neighbor told us an inspiring story how she potty trained her kids at 18 months old. She said it took three full days. She said she took her kids to the store and had them pick out their favorite panties. Then she set the timer and every 30 minutes she would put her kids on the potty. If they didn't pee pee she would try it again in 15 minutes. She said on the third day they just got it! I'm so impressed! She said they didn't like the way the pee pee felt when it got all over their new panties. So said she gave them diapers during nap time and during the night. I have a whole week off from work for Thanksgiving..and I'm excited to try it with Carly!!! :)

Carly has her first dentist appointment today. I hope her sweet teeth are okay. I worry that she's going to get bottle rot. We give her a bottle to sleep with and one in the middle of the night, so she has milk on her teeth all the time. Its really difficult brushing her teeth too. She wants to do it herself. We also try wiping her mouth with a wash cloth, but she usually bites down on it so you can't move it around. We try making her laugh. Sometimes that works!

The power has been out since last night at 8pm. We're bummed because all our groceries are probably ruined.

That is just awesome.
I don't think you'll need to wait until Thanksgiving either. It sounds like she's got it down.

That whole waiting every 30 minutes. I don't know how well that works...but that's just me.
I personally think when the child is ready...they'll do it. It sounds like Carly is TOTALLY ready.
