IT’S A MOUSE!!!

LAST NIGHT Tina and I finally got Carly to sleep and we were looking forward to watching tv and relaxing when a M O U S E runs from the kitchen across our living room into the closet!
W H A T!!!
The dogs were USELESS! They didn’t seem to mind that a rodent just ran by!
Tina and I quickly grabbed brooms and dust pans. We didn’t want to hurt it, but we wanted it OUT! Of course that closet had a ton of CRAP it in, bags partially opened, so one by one we took out each item until we saw the mouse for a second and it was gone. Apparently it had gotten through the door hinges and got under our couch. SO GROSS! I am getting the creepy crawlies just thinking about it again. I spot it making its way back to the kitchen, but I am frozen. Some defender I turned out to be. I was in shock at how fast it sailed by. Tina went out and got one of those live traps and we called Orkin who will be here tomorrow morning, but so far the trap hasn’t done squat and the mouse is still in the kitchen and every time I go in there I'm expecting that it will jump in my hair or something! I’m SO GROSSED OUT! ICK. We had a contract with Orkin before... after the bbq incident (Tina found a RAT in our bbq eeeeeeewwwww. Had to get rid of that bbq), but we canceled the service when we moved to that horrendous rental for that week when Carly was just 4 weeks old . It was my fault for canceling that service, because I wanted us to try to cut back our spending. Boy am I sorry now. WOW!

On another topic…Carly’s fins miraculously stayed on today and they WORKED! I sent her down about three feet and she turned around and kicked all the way until her face came out of the water! YEAH! She was really kicking and those fins gave her momentum! I think she’s really getting the idea of what she has to do now. Also, yesterday when I sat her up on the side, normally I count to three and then pull her in, but this time she just pushed off to me on her own!!!

Tomorrow we’re hosting Family Play Group at the pool. I wonder if it will be a popular swim day for my neighbors. You never can tell. Some days nobody is around and other days its just packed. I hope everyone has enough room and has a great time.

PS Our dear friend is in the process of trying to adopt a child she's been fostering for over a year now. He was 9 months old when he came to live with her and he was so malnourished and underweight. He was in the 1 percentile. His story was very sad until he went to live with our dear friends. Now his parents want him back but they are still in the same situation as before. Addicted to drugs etc. They have two older kids that have recently been in foster care until now and a new baby that they just gave up for adoption. We have been trying to help her raise money to help with the attorney fees since she has been trying to adopt him and keep him safe.
